Google presentations - обзор на LiveBusiness

2008. SlideRocket - убийца PowerPoint и Google Presentations

Google Presentations : ***

Google

Google Slides -

2015. Google Slides

How to Enhance Your Google Presentation

Google has recently updated its presentations in Google Docs – introducing more than 50 new features – including new themes, transitions, animations, drawings, advanced tables and live collaborations. The Google presentations, as a free alternative to Microsoft’s PowerPoint,  is very easy to use and pretty intuitive. If you are someone who is still hesitant about switching to the new version, here are some handy tips and tweaks to spice up your presentations:

1) Jazz up your presentations with new themes

The new Google presentations incorporate new themes to create distinctive presentations with compelling visual styles. To change a theme or check out what’s available, go to Slide menu → Change Theme.

Simply select the desired theme and it will be automatically applied to your slides.

2) Revamp your older presentations

Earlier, it was not possible to upgrade your old presentations to a new version, but now you can revamp them by importing old slides into the new version of Google presentations. To do that:

1. Create a new presentation, go either to File or Insert menus and select Import slides

2. Select a previously saved Google Docs presentation or upload one from your computer. Click Select.

3. Select  the slides you’d like to import manually or use the option Select Slides: All  if you want to import the entire presentation. If you want to import slides unmodified, leave the box next to “Keep original theme” checked. If you want to revamp them and fit them into the look of a new presentation, then uncheck the box.

4. Click Import to finish.

3) Add Slide Transitions

The new Google Docs introduces slide transitions to move between slides with effects like fades, slide from right or left, cubes, etc.

The default option for new presentations is No Transition.

To change it and add slide transitions:

1. Go to Slide menu and select Change transition.

2. On the right sidebar, select one of six available animations from the dropdown menu.

3. Choose the speed you want for your transitions: slow, medium or fast.

4. Click on the button Apply to All Slides.

4) Add animations to text and objects

New Google Docs presentations allow you to add animations to text or individual objects in your slides to accentuate them or simply make them more interesting. However, if you are creating presentations for strictly professional and business purposes, use this feature wisely, since too many animations may look childish and influence your audience to take you less seriously than you would want them to.

To add animations:

1.  Go to View menu -→ Animations

2. Select the text or object that you would like to animate and click on +Add Animation. From the dropdown menu you can select your animation. Choose whether you want your selected object or text to appear, disappear, spin, fly in or out, zoom in or out.

3. Set the timing for your shape’s animation by clicking the menu On Click.

4. Set the speed of your shape’s animation by using the slider.

5. Click Play to see it in action.

5) Insert Word Art

You can easily insert Word Art into the new Google presentations. Click on Insert menu -→ Word Art. Type the text you want. If you want your Word Art in multiple lines, use Shift+Enter. When done, click Enter to insert the Word Art into your presentation.

You can further format and style your Word Art text and change the color, font, size and line weight by using appropriate and widely recognizable Toolbar icons.

6) Enhance tables

Google Docs now enables you to merge and unmerge cells in your tables. This feature definitely enhances the look of tables created in Google presentations.

To merge the cells, select them, then go to Table menu and select Merge Cells.

If you want to unmerge cells, go to Table menu and click Unmerge cells.

7) Find and Insert images directly from Google Search

With the new Google Docs there is no more need to open a new browser tab or window and perform a Google search to find images for your presentations. Now you can directly search Google Images by going to Insert menu, clicking Image and selecting Google Image Search from the dialogue box. Type your query into the Google search field. Google displays the relevant images. When you choose the image, click on it and confirm by clicking the button Select. It will be automatically inserted into your presentation.

Google definitely improved its Google Docs suite a lot. It is still not as powerful as Microsoft Office, but it is a great free alternative. Even though your Google presentation  is still no match for Microsoft PowerPoint, the above explained new features and some others are great enhancements, especially for a completely free service.

3 Cool Presentation Design Trends for 2017

If you want your presentation to feel creative and on target with a modern audience, then don’t rely on the default themes in Google Slides, or try to hunt down a free Google slides template online, as these designs are all too often overused, unoriginal, and stale.

Instead you need a vibrant presentation set that’s made by a professional designer that’s got their finger on the cool trends of 2017. Here’s just a few of those fashionable styles you can make use of:

1. Minimal Slide Designs With Plenty of White Space

As you’re progressing through slides, it’s easy to confuse your audience. Ideas need room to breath. Using a minimal set of slide designs helps your ideas land with clarity and impact.

You can keep it simple, and make a stronger impact, by using an on-trend template that has lots of minimal style slide designs, like the Verzus Google Slides theme:

Verzus minimal Google Slides presentation layout.

2. Modern Typography With Bold Layout Options

Great typography not only reads better, but makes your presentation come across as more professional. Using a simple sans serif font like Helvetica or Google’s free Roboto is often the best choice for presenting your ideas.

Look for templates that make great use of bold headings, so your ideas stand out strong, while also including detailed sub headings, bullet points, and stylized type options. You want a good mix of modern layouts to work with.

The Hipster Google Slides template set has plenty of cool layouts, with great modern typography options:

You'll have to set them up as animations to show when you actually present the slides. To set these up, create the four objects you'd like to reveal incrementally. Right-click on the first object you want to reveal and select Animate The animation right navigation menu will appear, allowing you to select how you want the object to appear (fade in, etc) as ...

As far as I can tell, Google Slides does not yet allow you to specify an exact size for an image. One workaround I've used successfully is to Create a separate, blank drawing in Google Drawings. Within Drawings, select File -> Page Setup... from the menu and set the page size to the exact size you want your image to be in Slides. (Note you can specify the ...

Unfortunately at this time you can not do that. However Google is constantly updating this stuff, so it may be possible in the future.

Short answer As I understand, the emojis that the OP is talking about are UNICODE emojis. Unfortunately, at this time the Google Slides presentation mode doesn't display them in full color, so instead of using UNICODE emojis, use images. For that, you could take a screenshot and snip out the emojis. Explanation UNICODE emojis are pictorial representation ...

No need to download any additional software if you have Adobe Acrobat, simply... Save your presentation to pdf: File > Download as > PDF Document (.pdf) Open the PDF in Acrobat and then: File > Export To > Image > (Choose prefered file format) It will automatically start creating each slide as its own image inside the directory you have the PDF saved in.

If I understood it right, you are talking about Publishing a Google Presentation, which generates an HTTPS link. Unfortunately, there is no direct way to access it through HTTP. However, you could download your presentation and share it through another file sharing site.

See this thread in the Google Docs forums. A mathematical formula created in a Google Docs text document can be dragged to a presentation slide.

According to Ziggy Dziegman Jun 2, 2014 it is not possible at present. From your Title (singular) you might move a slide to the end of the presentation and stop presenting before it. From the body of your question (plural) you might copy the presentation and delete the slides you do not wish to show.

If you want to apply that image to all slides you can change the "master slide". If you just want to apply it to some of the slides, I think the easiest way is just to copy that slide with the image you wanted and paste it. The pasted slide will look exactly the same as the original. Then you can delete the content/change the layout etc., but the background ...

Unfortunately users are not able to remove the bar from the bottom of presentations: Source Article from Google FAQ You can customise a Gadget to alter the height so you can hide the tool bar - full instructions on how to do this can be found here.

There does not seem to be a way to do this. I have tried Cmd+C Dragging from one window to the next I assume these ways work pre-Google's new layout. You may not have the correct and matching fonts installed on your local computer. Then you need to download and install the relevant/...

Google Presentations Released

CEO Eric Schmidt promised an online PowerPoint-style application for this summer, and as summer ends in a couple of days, a lot of people eagerly awaited this addition to the “Google office” this week. And today, indeed Google Presentations launched as part of Google Docs & Spreadsheets... or now just “Google Docs,” as some of the logos already read. If you have a Google Account you can go start a presentation by clicking New -> Presentation, or by switching to the Upload tab to convert an existing PPT file. For those who don’t have a Google Account yet (can’t be too many left I figure), there’s now another reason to get one, and perhaps the right time to ponder switching away from the Microsoft Office suite or Open Office.
Google Presentations features

The first impression is that Google Presentations does all it’s supposed to do (and without resorting to Java or Flash, at least judging by the parts I checked – it’s DHTML/ Ajax technology). You can add a new slide and then edit it in a myriad of ways:

  • Add text, lists, links
  • Change the formatting (bold, italics, underline), the font family, the font colors
  • Change alignments
  • Insert images
  • Change the theme (which includes font styles, the background picture and so on)
  • ... and more

Every element on a slide can later be freely moved around, be edited again, or resized. Editing and moving is ever-slightly sluggish compared to Microsoft PowerPoint on the same computer during my tests, but nothing that would get in your way or be frustrating. Compared to PowerPoint, the interface is also refreshingly simple, which is good for those of us who don’t live and breathe presentation tools but just want to get something done quickly.

Additional to all those basic “PowerPoint clone” features, this being a web application brings a couple of interesting other possibilities. For one thing, there’s the Share tab which you may already be used to from Google documents and Google spreadsheets. In this tab you can pick a list of collaborators and assign different rights. Everyone with the necessary rights will then edit the same document with you, at the same time; your document automatically updates to changes, and an “Also editing now” status label below indicates who’s out there (in the case of two people editing an object at the same time, a conflict message will pop up).

Also, you can hit the Publish tab and make the document available as presentation web page. In that case, a chat box appears to the right of the presentation and allows other people viewing this document to chat with you. While this chat bar can be collapsed, it’s these kind of features – simultaneous editing on the same document, easy document sharing without creating redundant attachments, online discussions while viewing a document – which most obviously set a web application apart from desktop software. And even if you want to move your presentation offline to e.g. send it to others as attachment, you can save it as self-contained ZIP file including all necessary HTML, (obfuscated) JavaScript and CSS files in the bundle.

The full-screen presentation mode (supports ugly presentations too!)

Problems with Google office

If you do intend to switch from office suites like Microsoft’s one, there are some caveats to keep in mind. For one thing, Google office is still being built, and it shows. Some interface metaphors are growing and changing and not fully perfected. Sometimes, the sharing features can be confusing and don’t always do exactly what you might predict (for example, if you check the “Collaborators may invite others” box for a document, the document URL – while cryptic – is not Google Account password-protected; imagine you accidentally share a table of contents document with the wrong person, and that this ToC includes links to 100 private team documents, which would all be accidentally shared now too). Strike this; Google pinged me telling me that’s not the case, and indeed I can’t reproduce it anymore. I tested it once before with the table of contents of Google Office Hacks, which I’m writing with Docs, trying to follow one of the links in the ToC with an uninvited user. But unless Google changed something in the meantime, I made an error during that test, so I take back what I said about sharing confusion! [Thanks Jason!] At other times, there are some smaller inconsistencies among the three editors for documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

Also, saving is not what you might expect it to be; often a document will be saved even though you never hit the save button, or activated any kind of auto-saving (in the spreadsheets editor this is most clearly disclosed with an “Automatically Saved” message, but auto-saving is also active in the other two editors). “Undoing" actions doesn’t always work – like when performing a text replacement in documents (it’s good that there’s a revision feature). And many advanced features desktop programs have are simply not available. I might have missed it, but didn’t find a simple way to embed a spreadsheet in a presentation, for instance, even though graphs are a natural part of presentations. You might also seriously miss being able to insert editable objects like arrows, or predefined clip arts, into your presentation. Google Presentations specifically also lacks an export function to save a file as PPT.

Balancing pros and cons in comparison to competing tools

As with other Google office tools, the question “is this right for me?” can only be answered with “depends on your needs and wants” right now. In the future months and years Google may update the tools by adding new most-wanted features, but the suite may always lack in terms of sheer options quantity. Personally I prefer web applications though as they are more light-weight (no setup, no feature overload, free) and make it easier to share. I also feel like Microsoft has slightly given up their once strong focus on usability in favor of glamorous interfaces, and their attempts to simplify growingly complex interface – e.g. by automagically hiding certain menu entries – didn’t work well for me so far.

For those who like the web applications style better, the competition may thus be not Microsoft, but web app suites providers like the (neat) Zoho.com. And of course, Google themselves hold the power to destroy their suite’s appeal if they start adding complexity, and bugs. In the web age there won’t be blue screens, but there may be sluggishly loading websites, JavaScript errors, security issues (worst-case scenario: your documents becoming exposed through a Google Account cross-site scripting vulnerability), or “alpha” features which stay in alpha just too long. Let’s see how the Google office grows in the coming years... they’re off to a good start.

[Thanks Jason F., Rachael, DaveB and Bram L.!]
